Everyone Loves Amy Winehouse

Apparently, you can be a cracked out rehab addict and still get the admiration of the fashion community.  Amy Winehouse performed for the Fendi set at their after-party in Paris.  Karl Lagerfeld not only said she was “a muse” but “a genius”, after which he was escorted back to his nursing home. The Olsen Twins (don’t know which one) said she was “amazing”. And Mila Jovovich couldn’t even get into the packed performance hall to watch the performance, even after she threatened to go into “Zombie Bashing Mode” (her quote not mine).

Don’t get me wrong. That “Rehab” song was hot, but is it all that amazing to hear some white chick belt out the type of songs that classic soul performers like Aretha Franklin have been singing for years. I don’t think Winehouse really has anything to offer other than gossip fodder and a crap load of bad beauty advice like “Beehives may be great for drawing unneeded attention to yourself, but did you know they can also be used to hide flasks when visiting Promises Rehabilitation Center.”  Get over it fashion people, your addiction to emaciated icons is getting tiring.
