While I’m not the biggest Kins Of Leon fan, I do have a ton of respect for what they have accomplished. With that being said, I am a bit confused by where Surface To Air is headed. Last year they took a fairly edgy aggressive collaboration with Justice, and it just seems like edge that this brand used to carry is dulling down. I like the collaboration just not sure I like it with Surafce To Air.

The Diesel:U:Music event was the place to be in Miami, Florida on Tuesday, November 17th! Outside, the line wrapped around the building and people tried to bust in with fake wristbands. Inside, DJ MOMJEANS, Santigold, Kid Cudi, Jemina Pearl and The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! performed while models and socialites from the Miami scene livened the party.

While some found this quote to be clever and cute, British eating-disorder campaigners blame the comment for making it more difficult for people struggling with eating-disorders. Moss’ agents claim that she doesn’t support the eating-disorder lifestyle. I guess the only thing that can redeem Moss is a few leaked photos of her chowing down on Thanksgiving!

H&M’s Spring 2010 collection actually looks really well done, however I think we all know by now that the lookbook tends to out do the actually product about tenfold. Regardless, what the hell were they thinking with that kilt? This is a mainstream brand, and not even some of the edgiest fashion people would rock a kilt. I’m a little confused by this one.

THE GOD OF SEX

Humans originally lived naked as their natural state, in Greek art male nudes are the norm, nudity was a costume used by artists to depict various roles of men, ranging from heroism to defeat. It’s not known when walking around in the buff began but when Christianity became the state religion of the Roman Empire the view of nudity as a sin took root.

If the millions of artist all over the world (living or dead) have a voice on Nudity in modern art and fashion, we can literally elect our very own nude president, and his name is Thomas Carlyle “Tom” Ford (born August 27, 1961), the champion for male nudity in fashion is a Texan who is battling against an unfair double standard — he says that when it comes to fashion photography in American media, while vaginas and breasts are celebrated, penises seems to make just about everyone uncomfortable. Ford explains “it’s so uncomfortable for us to fit ‘masculine’ and ‘beauty’ together. So we tend to avoid the issue entirely.” An NYU Art History student dropout-turned-actor-turned Parsons Interior Architecture student-turned Studio 54 fixture-turned Chloé intern-turned Hardwick design assistant-turned Gucci creative director-turned fashion empire of high-end sensuality, my very own personal God of Sex in fashion.

A SINGLE MAN

Ford’s latest project is a film adaptation of the Christopher Isherwood book, “A Single Man” have garnered great reviews at the Venice Film Festival. The screenplay is written by Tom Ford and David Scearce. The plot centers on a gay man who, after the sudden death of his partner, is determined to persist in his usual routine, which is seen in the span of a single, ordinary day in Southern California. The Times of London’s review said: “It’s no surprise that the feature film directing debut of fashion designer Tom Ford is a thing of heart-stopping beauty. He celebrates the male form with a sensual reverence.”

Daniel Palillo’s latest Spring collection has me hoping I can find a girl draped in one of these pieces so I can propose to her on the spot. The collection has so many great elements to it from the the tight biker shorts, to the large cut outs. I can’t say I love the ying yang, but there is a certain level of comedy contained in this line. The fact that the model’s feet don’t line up with their heads is subtle but hilarious when you continue to look at them. I might be off, but I think it’s a jab at all that terrible photoshopping we’ve been seeing in magazines and such lately.

Candace Bushnell to Release ‘The Carrie Diaries’

Here is the first image of the cover of Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, a young adult book series set during the teen years of the Sex And The City protagonist.
