In the complexities of today’s ever-increasingly paced life and world it is nice to know people still remain in touch with the simplicity of Nature. Nature entertwines with us all like woven lace or the softest cotton made like those good souls from the Appalachian country whose wheels and gifted hands created wondrous fabrics of shawls and blankets. Model and environmentalist Angela Lindvall is combining her talents of art, beauty, and wisdom with the good people at http://www.edun-live.com/ to create a new line of organic T-shirts Ms Lindvall calls “Shadows of Leaves”. These fashions are down-to-earth, comfortable, pretty, and affordable.
Ms Lindvall’s words of Thoreau-like wisdom have inspired me to, unworthily, write a short poem that in my wayward manner “calls to the shadows to sing” for Angela and her love for Nature.

“For an Angel”
Shadows of leaves in the solitude of the night
As the moon beams modestly upon the grey grass
And the fallen, near- unnoticed leaves a little darker
With a texture yet undefined like strangers never met.
These simple, soft, unextraordinary “hands of Heaven’s
Mother Earth” seem, in the twilight of delicate thought,
Like footprints to leap so lightly from one to the next
To the next, until at last she finds a place to rest her spritely feet.
If not for the leaves like stepping-stones our angel would, perhaps,
Fall without a sound into the sea of the uncharmed, taller walls to climb
Harmless a little smudged like a chimney sweep
As a little willow with shadow’d leaves cast upon her slender
Frame a touch of graceful might her tender flight with patent heels
Skipping from leaf to leaf turned back remain’d
From stone to stone like cheer to grief, then gaity once again.
