Good golly what a backwards world this place used to be! From the 1930s to the 60s, calling someone skinny was rude. Seriously. Skinny was so undesirable that they started selling weight gain accelerators. Ads that read like, “New easy way adds 5 to 15 lbs.– Quick!” were splayed all across the pages of magazines and newspapers. They touted rumors that men wouldn’t look at your if you were skinny. What we’ve learned here today kids, is that that the mindset from the 1930s-60s is completely opposite of that which we subscribe to today. And considering that the diet industry in the US moves more than $60 billion today, we’ve taken a cultural leap since those days. Take a look at this nonsense.
