I love supporting my talented friends, so when I caught wind of my friend Ashley Stern’s new jewelry line, La Luna, I had to share. And not just because she’s my friend, but because I really dig her handmade collection of delicate, feathery headbands, necklaces, earrings and hairpieces. Ever the fan of the recent Native-American trend, I’m already imagining outfits paired with her one-of-a-kind creations.
The name La Luna stands for Los Angeles and the Latin name for the moon – an apt name for the label given Stern’s roots. The designer was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she now resides, but has lived throughout the US, including as far as Austin, Texas and the dusty deserts of Nevada. Perhaps it is the wanderlust in her that has informed her bohemian, free-spirited lifestyle and fashion-forward aesthetic. For as long as I have known her, she’s had a penchant for discovering and adopting trends far before the average person. La Luna was born out of Stern’s desire to channel her creativity and keen eye for design and style.
