Google Me Baby. Spokesblogger Daniel Saynt Takes A Weekend Trip With His T-Mobile G1.
I recently had the pleasure of being selected as a spokesblogger for the new T-Mobile G1 phone, you know that little Sidekick looking flip from the friendly gods at Google. While it was difficult to put down my iPhone for a weekend (where am I without you Steve Jobs), I gave the Android powered little device a go.
Since I’m all about applications, I headed to Android Market to grab any that were fashion related. I found two (though I hear that many more on the way) one called ShopSavvy, which is a shopping comparison services, and MyCloset, a program that lets you photograph your wardrobe and create outfits based off the images.
Since I was planning on skipping through the retail strip known as Madison Ave for some much needed recession-supported deals at Barneys, I took the flip with me on the trip. After mapping the trip using the phones Google maps, I made a beeline for the Mens Department to pick out some highly covetable Michael Bastian pieces. Using ShopSavvy I snapped a few barcodes and was taken to a couple of his pieces at Neiman Marcus, the deals weren’t as good as Barneys, but I decided to pass on the $660 dress shirts (maybe after I pay my rent).
I then checked my gmail and received an email featuring a sale on PegLeg. I took off and once again used maps to get me to Bowery to check out the sale. Didn’t pick up any goodness but got to talk to some people who were avids of the brand.
I snapped a few shots of the sale goodies and sent them to PR dude Corey Moran, who insisted on making his way down to the sale. Later I headed home to get to work on mapping my closet. As of writing, I’m still working on it (yeah, I’ve amassed a fairly large collection in my years). I haven’t picked up my iPhone in a few days, but I haven’t missed it as much as I thought.
Thanks T-Mobile for letting me check out your phone for a few, I’m definitely hearting it.
