Hello Kitty for Dior
Sometimes fashion is a little bit too ridiculous, even for my tastes.
Hello Kitty, that Japanese import that has more of an effect on our society than Mickey Mouse and Ronald McDonald combined, will be the new face of John Galliano for Dior. The Kitty will be posing in the new collection in the May issue of Japanese Vogue . I would be completely destroyed by this news if it wasn’t for the fact that The Simpsons recently sold their souls to the gods of fashion in Harpers last year to celebrate their new movie release.
What’s so strange is that this is the first time that a large fashion house has used a cartoon character to model their entire collection. You would think the group would choose a more iconic character like the Mouse or Bugs Bunny or something. Guess this makes some room for Fifi Lapin to hop her way onto some covers in the near future?
