90s fashion superstar turned rustic wood-dweller, Helmut Lang, has shredded some 6,000 of his archival garments for use as raw materials in a series of sculptures as part of his new exhibit “Make It Hard.”.
Lang used more than 25 years of collections to create a dozen floor-to-ceiling-length columnar sculptures made from scraps of fabrics, fur, feathers, leather, plastic, hair and metal.
The designer has already donated thousands of pieces to museums worldwide but will present his unique works of art at The Fireplace Project gallery in East Hampton from July 22nd through August 8th. [WWD]
