Midwest for sure, and that's where I live. I freely admit to owning a Vera tote, and I LOVE it. I use it for a gym bag. Big, sturdy and machine washable. I did NOT opt for the cute pink/turquoise/lavender combo; rather, the more subdued black and yellow.

I do, however, draw the line at gym bag. I wouldn't be caught dead carrying an actual quilted purse.

yeah, there are definitely some fashion items that just don't fit in New York. Those bags unfortunatley are one of them. Way to amish country chic.

I actually own a Vera Bradley purse and also live in the Midwest! I know exactly what you are saying! I have a true love-hate relationship with this bag! I think it looks so frumpy and also a bit silly BUT I love wearing it. There is something so tactile about it. It FEELS great! It is light and comfortable and the quilting feels wonderful in my hands. I honestly don't know how to describe it. I struggle with the way it looks everytime I wear it but I keep going back to it! I have never had this ammount of angst with a stupid purse before! I was shopping with a good friend a we saw a VB store and she said, "Oh H*&%% no!" and flat our refused to go into the shop! That cracked me up! I really get that lots of people hate these bags.

OMG, someone that finally shares my sentiments as well. These are the most HIDEOUS bags and I've no clue where they caught on from; they are like outcast rejects from the Lillain Vernon catalog or something. The unfortunate thing is too though, that I've noticed alot of people carrying these in NY as well....

I have worked at the Salt Lake City airport for the last 6 months and have noticed anywhere from 6-12 or more of these scary bags per day. Many of the people carrying these bags are teenagers. That is beyond scary and definitely seems to have something to do with looking conservative. There are way more of these godawful bags circulating than anyone would care to admit.

Monica, just wondering if you were serious on that link you posted bc i checked out the site and it is god awful. If you were trying to say that the midwest has stlye based on that site, well you were sadly mistaken, it just fulfilled every stereotype we have ever had about the midwest. Congrats!
