not funny. size-ist jokes aren’t funny. neither are jokes based in the idea that we get to laugh because we think we’re better than other people. i think that’s tasteless.

Reply to Raj Snot trying to be mean, but being overweight should be viewed as being a smoker. it’s bad for you, will lead to an early death, and affects you socially, economically (fat people make less that their skinny counterparts), sexually, emotionally, physically, and fashionably (seriously, no one over a size 12 makes it on the list of sizes designers care about… unless your talking about a plus sized designer).
there is no such this as size-ist. it sucks to be fat but fortunately you don’t have to be. just put down the big mac and walk your ass to the gym. or better yet, save up a few bucks, get gastric bypass, and have some money ready for a tummy tuck.

Reply to Nilsok, i thought these were really funny. however, in response to what others wrote, some people genetically cannot help being overweight. now there are some that are lazy asses and sit on their butts all day while eating junk food and watching tv. however, there are some people (like my friend) who eat healthy but have bodies that store all in taken carbs and convert them to fat.
next time you try to sound smart, i suggest you get your facts right.

Reply to Daniel SayntExcept that fat is usually ugly. It’s not so much that people judge someone for their fatness, it’s that they’re outcast because of the ugly factor.
On the other hand, with smoking most of the ugliness that it creates is on the inside (at least until years of it catches up with you and turns your face into a Jack Link’s Kippered Beef Steak). Oh, it also makes you smell hideous.
But you have to get relatively close to a person to smell the stench of burnt tobacco and other toxins. You can see the fat-ugly coming from a block away.
Reply to FredActually, there are genetic predispositions to obesity, and some people do have conditions where their bodies convert carbohydrates into fat very efficiently. I know this, because I’m one of them.
I’m also a size 10.
Get daily exercise, eat a healthy low carb, low fat diet and count calories, and you can loose weight and maintain a healthy body weight. It isn’t easy, and it takes self-discipline, but it can be done if you persevere. Saying you’re fat because of a genetic predisposition is a cop-out.
