For the past five years, Swarovski has celebrated Jewelry Week (jewelry world’s equivalent of Fashion Week) with a fantastical, collaborative runway show. This year’s designers included Erickson Beamon, Hussein Chalayan, Ana de Costa, Christopher Kane, Rodrigo Otazu, Marios Schwab and Pippa Small, among others. The cohesive element is the crystals themselves, so each designer was able to run wild with their imaginations resulting in looks that are at turns ethereal, fantastical, gothic … you name it, it was done. Although the disparate looks don’t result in the kind of clearly unified collection that a Couture or RTW strives for, it makes things just a bit more visually interesting for the viewer. Story by lins

Lins is kind of like a superhero. Corporate minion by day, free spirit by night, she's set to save the world one fashion misstep at a time (seriously, put down the Crocs and back away). She's previously written for myfashionlife and has an appreciation for unusual fashion juxtapositions (men's cardigans with silk dresses make her swoon). Now, if only she could fly …
