FIRST LOOK: Marc Jacobs Shoes emerging fashionThe most surprising thing about the Marc show for me this year? The lack of high heels. From the front these look like typical Marc fare: quirky, colorful shoes that you know you want but just aren’t sure how many outfits you can incorporate them into. Well keep looking before you buy, because these interesting shapes have a surprising kitten heel, something rarely seen in fashion unless someone is gawking over Michelle Obama’s style. To be honest, I was hoping they would stay far away forever.

    I love the new kitten heels. They are so fresh. Iused to be a high heel lover but the last few yers I have noticed how totally bad everyone looks in very high heels. Even actresses with thin, long legs look like their muscles and veins are bulging, and they walk like a preying mantis. They flatter nobody. The worst thing is everyone is convinced that they make legs look longer even though they do the very opposite. No wonder, Mischelle Obama who knows how to make the best of a short legged, long waisted figure has taken to kitten heels. A medium graceful heel is great. A kitten heel is WOW. Flats are good too. But high heels are just silly. And they hurt. What is the point of a pair of shoes that you can't wait to remove? YES! Give stilettos a long rest everyone. They are slutty and unattractive. The best place to wear them is in the bedroom for your man when you don't have to stand up at all.
