Midnight in the Garden of Michael Angel

As I endured the class work has sent me to today, I lamented all the updates to NYFW I was missing as the hours ticked on by. As soon as I got home though I started watching videos, and I found one the earliest showings from last Thursday be one of the best!
Michael Angel’s collection was beautiful!
As I watched the models walk down the runway my first thoughts were of how gorgeous the dresses were. Very aesthetically pleasing. But as I continued to examine, I realized there was more, much more, to the design.
The dresses are geographically versatile. I live in Hawaii, where I’m deprived of wearing the latest trends for fall/winter and I hate it. My closet is filled with greys and blacks, mostly long sleeves and sweaters, patiently waiting for the day (2.5yrs!) that we travel back to the mainland, never to return.
I found that Angel’s collection could most certainly be worn in all climates, all occasions, all seasons. The deep florals speak of exotic wonders, a garden party on a lanai, midnight on a tropical island. But I could just as easily see these jewels of a creation on a rooftop garden party in the middle of Manhattan, right around the time that the crisp Winter air is leaving the area and Spring has come to revive us from our hibernation. I see jewels, glamour, mysticism in these pieces. A playful oracle, prophesying the outcome of a beautiful new season.
I will try to post pics soon!
