With the economy in a tailspin it’s hard to ignore the fact that some of the small boutiques that you’ve come to love such as Oak, Catbird or even Atrium might not be around when the smoke clears. Large retailers like Saks and Barneys can trim the fat by cutting jobs and demanding lower prices from manufactures and designers but the cute boutiques with tiny staffs have little to trim since most run as efficiantly as possible. We are encouraging all our friends to shop local and shop independant this holiday season. Show some support for young designers and boutiques and help jump start our local economy by buying from NYC designers.
