5 Swimwear Brands You Should Know from Miami Swim Week

Jul 27, 2012 - by Danika Daly

Miami Swim Week was a week chock-full of fashion shows, presentations, after-parties, sample sales and trade shows. It's no wonder we were exposed to several brands within the week. It's difficult to make a swimsuit that doesn't fit into the crowd, but these five new brands make designs that stand out from a sea of swimwear sameness.

Stone Fox Swim I was lucky enough to meet the carefree California native and designer of Stone Fox Swim, Chelsea Bell. I had so much fun chatting with her while looking through her collection. Not only are her prints genius, but the entire collection can be mixed and matched. How amazing are these high-waisted bottoms? Another attention-grabbing print is a warped Polaroid print in pretty watercolors.

See my mix and match fun below.

Minimale Animale

This brand takes edgy swimwear to another level. As an ode to minimalism, the line consists of styles in mainly black, white and nude. The seductive shapes boast mesh tops, high-cut legs and low necklines. The lookbook is insanely gorgeous and brings on thoughts of a getaway in the Fiji islands.

Mandalynn Swim

The Britt bikini by Mandalynn Swim has gained so much popularity this summer with its side cutout design in several prints and colors from tribal to lime. We can't get enough of the cutout-bandeau combo. I'll take one in every color.

We got a peek at the 2013 collection at Swim Show 2013. See some of our favorites below.

Acacia Swimwear

This swimsuit brand went on a rapid rise after Rihanna sported their tie-dye, fringe bikini on vacation, and they haven't stopped since. The Hawaii-based designer duo Naomi Newirth and Lyndie Irons basically grew up in swimsuits and create their collections for gypsetters like themselves.

6 Shore Road

The resortwear brand has expanded into swimwear, and are we ever glad they did. The printed swimsuits and turbands were a bohemian dream. The brand is inspired by the Hamptons and effortless style. We caught a peek at the new collection, and this vividly-colored floral one-piece was a definite favorite.
