American grown clothing brand American Apparel is making their runway debut not in the United States, but in Japan. Tokyo Fashion Week became an official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week last year and American Apparel is going to be one of the first brands making its official debut.
American Apparel spoke to Fashionista and confirmed that they would be making their Fashion Week debut in Tokyo, Japan.
An American Apparel spokesperson told Fashioninsta that they chose Japan Fashion week because, "its a newcomer on the Mercedes-Benz fashion week scene and Tokyo is a city that is very open minded to new, creative ideas, particularly when it comes to fashion,
Currently Japan Fashion Week is preparing a presentation and an after party and are in the finalization periods of their invitation list. American Apparel is one of the first brands without one head designer to be showing at a Mercedes Benz fashion week and the brand says they are "very very excited about it".
And we are too. We are excited to see some velvet thong leotards accessorized with scrunchies to walk down the runway. Are you?
