Runway: Catherine Holstein, Fall 2008
Feb 01, 2008 - by Fashion Indie
Catherine Holstein, the Parsons grad everyone and their younger sister have been talking about, finally bestowed upon New York her Fall 2008 collection. A mix of school girl chic and glammed up "it" girl, it was more than obvious where this collection drew it's inspiration from. Each of the models felt like the love baby of Chloe Sevigny and Cory Kennedy, which means Catherine Holstein's goodies are sure to sell faster than Starbucks Vanilla Lattes in the "we'll never sell out, but I think we just did" town of Williamsburg.
I am really a big fan of Catherine's uncanny ability to build buzz, for a collection that seems to be (Parson my French) fairly simple. A task which for any designer in this field is no easy feet.
To not end on that sour note, stand out pieces included poofy blue skirts paired with see through artistically splotted tops which we're very well designed and definitely Saks and celebrity ready. Micha grab your guns and get to shopping.
