Chicago's Three Day Long Bacardi Bender Hosted by Hotel Thrillist
Aug 02, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
If you had the pleasure of being in Chicago last weekend then you would have been a fool to miss out on Hotel Thrillist, a weekend long party hosted by Thrillist, Doritios, Bacardi, and AXE Hair at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. Toted around to various Chicago venues in trollies, Fashionindie contributors and your editor shimmied and shook all weekend long at the 1920's themed bash.
Normal parties happen for one night only. Hotel Thrillist on the other hand lasted all weekend long. Starting out on the 27th, the weekend kicked off with the Wayback Ball. Guests nibbled on dishes from top Chicago restaurants Bar Toma, Filini Bar & Restaurant, Maison Brasserie, and Markethouse and sipped on custom watermelon Bacardi lemonade cocktails created by Top Chef alum Grayson Schmitz.
After the after-party for the Waybeck Ball was over and hangovers were subsided. Guests jumped in another trolley off to Oak Street Beach for more custom cocktails thanks to Top Chef All Star, Dale Levitski. Dancing along to tunes by DJ Evil One, Hotel Thrillist attendees chose between swimming and complimentary beach games, custom airbrush tattoos, and AXE hairstyle refreshers. All while celebrating the launch of JacksThread's new Goodale summer line modeled by hot Thrillist dudes.
After a hungover afternoon spent at the beach, Hotel Thrillest ended with a bang as guests headed to Park West in Lincoln Park to dance the night away for the After Dark Dance Party. Partying with literally hundreds of guests and waving Doritos glow sticks around, the Bacardi was flowing yet again and party-goers chose between breaking it down on the dance floor, enjoying the photo booth, or choosing between air hockey and foosball in the venue's game room. Go-go dancers, who looked like three of Lady Gaga's video hoes, danced on stage with performers like DJ Intel, Meat Number 5, and PUG$ ATOMZ. Fist-pumping until 1:30 in the morning, guests of the Hotel Thrillist retired after what was hopefully one of their best weekends in Chicago in recent memory.
With Thrillist occupying Chicago last weekend and Lollapalooza about to shut the city down, Chicago is quickly turning into one of the party cities in the U.S. Put this city on your itinerary for places to jet set too immediately and peep some more behind the scenes photos of the Hotel Thrillist weekend and be sure to reserve your spot for next year. You won't regret it.
