Leave it to eccentric style icon Daphne Guinness to tell it like it is. Earlier this week, we reminded you of Cher Horowitzs unforgettable quote in Clueless about the state of fashion among teenage boys in the 90s.

It looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair ew and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, were expected to swoon?

We felt Chers pain, and apparently Daphne does, too. While at a fashion event in Mayfair, Guinness opened up about her disappointment in the way people today dress. Remember, this is coming from a woman who wears Rick Owens to work out.

You can tell the state of civilization by the way people dress. If the people who fought two World Wars came back to 2010 and saw all of us running around in tracksuits, what would they think? It is just being sloppy. And it is not about the money, it is a mindset.

And on the way people treat their bodies:

I have nothing against people who are round. I am far too thin, for example. Id really love to put on a few pounds. But I certainly think some people look tremendously unhealthy and quite unhappy actually.

So to review if Guinness were to add on to our list of trends we miss, dressing up would be number one. Note to self throw out all sweatpants. Its a small price to pay to heed a genius advice.
