Disney Gets A Supermodel Makeover for Barneys

For department store Barneys holiday campaign "Electric Holiday", Disney characters are getting a supermodel makeover as they don Lanvin, Balenciaga, and Balmain in a 3-D short film.

We always knew Minnie Mouse was a style icon. London Fashion Week is putting on a fashion show that's all inspired by Minnie and in accordance with department store Barneys' holiday campaign "Electric Holiday", Minnie and her animated friends are being redrawn as 5' 11'' models who wear designers like Lanvin, Balenciaga, and Balmain.

Disney and Barneys are creating a 3-D short film following Minnie Mouse and her daydreams about attending Paris Fashion Week. In her fantasies she runs into Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Snow White, Cruella de Vil, and Daisy Duck all wearing high end designers. Also starring in the short film with the mousey ingenue are 23 industry insiders portrayed as animated characters.

For the Disney Holiday line at Barneys, the retailer is selling Mickey Mouse ears designed by Rag & Bone and L'Wren Scott.

Is anyone else excited to see Minnie and Daisy as runway models? More like we are really excited to see what fashion designers they toon-ify. We're hoping for a black and white Karl Lagerfeld on the arm of an animated Anna Wintour. Unfortunately we'll just be fantasizing about fashion week like Minnie, but in the meantime someone draw some designer duds on us stat!
