Disney Gets a Top 40 Makeover with Toderick Hall as Cinderfella
Aug 09, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
In an effort to support gay marriage, American Idol alum Toderick Hall switches up a classic fairy tale with his retelling of Cinderfella. Mixing Disney songs with Top 40 Hits from the likes of Rihanna and Katy Perry, Toderick and his gaggle of celebrity friends sing and dance the night away in drag.
Toderick's still waiting for his gay prince to come, and it's not until his fairy godmother Glozell releases him from the clutches of evil stepmother Janice Dickinson that he can meet his Prince Charming, Lance Bass.
We're seeing a huge insurgence of Disney inspired pop-culture lately. With Disney inspired couture, pin-up princesses, Beauty and the Beat and real-life Louboutins for Cinderella, Disney is more relevant than ever before. Toderick's legalize gay music video fits the glass slipper perfectly.
The upbeat music video mashes Disney songs from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Cinderella with Rihanna and Katy Perry songs and hosts a cast of Disney characters as they remix the top 40 into catchy tunes about being homosexual. While an openly gay character has yet to appear in a Disney film (Timon and Pumba have yet to come out of the closet) we're seriously enjoying Toderick's gay romp to a fabulous drag ball.
