Actress Emma Roberts has been selected as a fashion advisor for the fashion app Snapette. Available for free via iTunes, the app combines the better aspects of Instagram and Yelp to help you find the closest boutique that fits your tastes. 

The amount of dollars spent shopping via mobile devices has been on the rise for the past couple of years and it's becoming a successful trend to create applications for your phone or iPad from which to shop on. The application Snapette is one of those platforms that is capitalizing on this trend. The app combines the photo sharing aspect of Instagram with the review and location portion of Yelp or Foursquare to give you advice on where to shop.

Snapette has also tapped into fashion darling Emma Roberts to act as a fashion advisor for the application. As a featured user on the app itself, Emma is now a blog contributor who discusses her favorite items and trends of the season.

In the past, Snapette has collaborated with designers such as Dianne Von Furstenburg and Vince Camuto. You can purchase the app for free on iTunes and come October 23rd a version for the Android will be released as well.

Rebecca Minkoff is another brand who has been using social media apps to boost her sales. In fact, she credits a 100% spike in shoe sales to Instagram alone.
