Frank Ocean: What's Not to Love?
Jul 10, 2012 - by Céleste Hermione
We don't know which news is more exciting: Frank Ocean's release of what many are calling a 'coming out' letter or his album 'Channel Orange' dropping today.
Frank Ocean has been attracting quite a bit of attention recently from both Channel Orange dropping on iTunes today, a week early, and from what many are calling his coming out statement. If it is a coming out letter, it's definitely the classiest one we've ever seen. It's not focused on selling his sexuality as something illicit or scandalous, nor is Ocean defensive or quick to label himself - he doesn't actually use the word 'gay'. Nevertheless, the
poem statement has naturally raised quite a bit of hype, and his fans having been quoting his lyrics in support, most notably those from his song "We All Try", released in Nostalgia in 2011. Frank writes, "I believe that marriage isn't between a man and woman, but between love and love." Well put, Frank. Although his lyrics have always been meaningful, perhaps now they are especially so.
Check out Frank's album on iTunes today! It includes the hit songs "Thinking Bout You" and "Pyramids" as well as collaborations with John Mayer and Andre 3000.
