Free Time Friday with Jason Ross, Founder of JackThreads
Dec 03, 2010 - by Josh Linam
Free Time Friday is the Lookbooks series of short interviews getting to the personal side of fashion industry leaders and how they spend their "off time." This week we chat with Jason Ross, as he shares his passions, personal hobbies and upcoming plans.
1) What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
In the summers you can find me on a golf course away from it and out in the fresh air. In the winters you can find me on a mountain snowboarding. I skateboarded a bit when I was really young, and growing up was always excited by the clothing and culture inspired by that industry. I just recently got into snowboarding, and I'm hooked.
2) What do you do to find calm during the crazy filled fashion days?
Working out is necessary for me. Without hitting the gym and clearing my mind, I think I would go crazy.
3) What's your guilty pleasure?
Coffee, without a doubt. I don't know how it happened but one day I just realized how much I loved a few cups of coffee in the morning. It's a daily routine that I can't go without. Oh and the Fiona Apple cd Tidal, but don't tell anyone that.
4) What was your last indulgence?
Mostly fashion purchases, I can't pinpoint a specific one because there have been so many of late. I get caught up while I'm researching new products and brands for Jackthreads, and I find things I just have to have for myself. My shoe game is getting out of control.
5) What are you doing this weekend?
This weekend I'll be out on the town partying with friends most of the night, meeting people. I love coming into work on Mondays knowing we pushed it to the limit over the weekend.
