Glamour Finds Out About Daul Kim's Death 3 Years Too Late
Jul 19, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
Three years ago, we were all heartbroken over model Daul Kim's suicide. Glamour Magazine seems to have slept through that whole ordeal because they recently used a photo of the departed model in their August 2012 issue.
In an article about different ways to wear denim, Glamour Magazine used deceased model Daul Kim along with two other models backstage at fashion shows. The 20-year old committed suicide three years ago and it was not until the issue was published that a reader pointed out the oversight.
Fashionista reported that Glamour stated they had "no idea about the backstory and are heartbroken to learn this news." But the real question is, how is Glamour just learning this news three years after the fact? While Kim's influence on the industry will never be forgotten, it's unfortunate to have a fashion publication not only use a photo that is three years past its expiration date but also be oblivious to an event that absolutely shook the industry and was a pre-cursor to several other attempted model suicides the same year.
