The Case of the Missing Collection: Hakaan Show Cancelled Due Disappearing Clothes
Oct 01, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
Designers beware, your worst nightmares can come true. Designer label Hakaan was scheduled to present their collection tomorrow at 1:30 pm during Paris Fashion Week, but their entire collection was lost. Just where does an entire collection of clothes disappear to? Nobody knows.
When one puts on a fashion show, there's an ongoing list of worst case scenarios that are floating around in the designers head. Paris Fashion Week could burn down, a full out brawl could derail your runway presentation, your collection could get lost in the mail. Wait, that last one actually happened. Designer label Hakaan was slated to show tomorrow at 1:30 pm, but couriers lost their entire collection. Oops.
A Hakaan public relations representative confirmed the cancellation stating that the house was working to re-create the entire collection to show at a later date. Unfortunately, there are no details as to specifically where the collection went.
Speculations (mostly ours) as to where the collection could have gone include; one fabulous Parisian homeless person is using them for a house, they could have ended up being accidentally donated to the luckiest Salvation Army in the world, or some evil genius is looking to take down Paris Fashion Week show by show.
Wherever the collection may be, we sympathize with the entire team of Hakaan. No one wants to have their collection disappear into thin air the day before the show. That's why we're assuming magic has to come into play at some point. What else could the explanation be?
