Housingworks Hosts Huge Designer Charity Sale in Chelsea

Nov 07, 2012 - by Jessica Lapidos

Amidst the nor'easter, one gala is pushing forward raising money to help those with AIDS, HIV, and now those affected by Superstorm Sandy. Housingworks Thrift Store is back again with Thom Browne as the host of their majorly discounted new designer sale. We're talking donations from DVF, Brooks Brothers, Salvatore Ferragamo, Herve Leger, Marc Jacobs and 250 more brands, sold at up to 80% off!

One of our eco indie designer favorites Study NY also donated some organic pieces to the cause.

I got to see the sneak peek at the Housingworks window display desigeners setting up as thy prepare for the opening night party, where now 20% of ticket revenue tonight is going to the victims of Sandy. the rest of the revenue will be going to fund programs which help those suffering with AIDS and HIV.

Along with Mr. Browne, other hosts tonight include it girl Dree Hemingway, Talk Stoop host Cat Greenleaf, and stylist/agent/blogger Natalie Joos. Paper Magazine is the official media sponsor, so Mr. Micky Boardman dressed up some sparkling, printed mannequins (see above), and is donating some of his own accessories to the sale.

After tonight, all the brand new merchandise will be moved to the Chelsea Housingworks store, for sale all weekend long.

Check out what else is up for grabs this weekend. And why it'll be worth it to battle your way through the cold snow to shop. You'll be helping people battling something far worse. And up the ante on your Fall wardrobe on the cheap. Housingwerqs!
