You've seen the headband braid on many a runway since the Spring 2011 shows, and celebs have been running amok with this milkmaid 'do. There are some shortcutters out there who wear the fake hair braided headband, like Xtina Aguilera, but they are simply not as chic as the real deal. Get the look like Ashley Olsen, Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2011, Rachel Roy Fall 2011 and so many others, and follow my instructional video to hair mastery. I tried it out this morning for the first time and it was a success! It's super easy and looks fab.

How to get the look:

Start with wet hair. Apply a smoothing serum like Warren Tricomi Hair Polish to keep it sleek. Brush hair to one side and pull it ear level. Begin braiding while pulling outward and forward, then guide the braid upward. Pull the plait over your head keeping it aligned to the tops of your ears. Using complementing bobby pins, pin it in place at the end of the braid and eliminate the need for a hair tie.

Wear it like Ashley Olsen with a loose Cali vibe by leaving it wispy, or slick it back with pomade or hairspray for the super tight Ungaro look.
