I Just Died: The McQueen at the Met Edition

Feb 23, 2011 - by Lester Brathwaite

Most of us will have to wait for Alexander McQueen's retrospective, "Savage Beauty" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute to open on May 4th (my invite to the Met Gala must have gotten lost in the mail...ahem), but the fashion gods, i.e. Anna Wintour, have blessed us with a sneek peak. The Vogue editrix hosted a preview event at the Ritz in London yesterday morning that was attended by, among others, Stella McCartney and Sarah Burton.

The pieces were photographed for the exhibit catalogue by Sølve Sundsbø using live models who were digitally altered to look like mannequins, thus giving the clothing movement. It looks absolutely incredible and I can't wait to basically live in the Met for the entire month of May.
