If You Can Think It, You Can Make It

The blogosphere is filled to the brim with people who have great ideas for clothing but lack the crafting skills to make a garment. The/Studio saw that potential and created a portal to connect those idealists with the production facilities they needed to realize their visions.
The/Studio is a new social media site, much like Threadless, in which users submit their own content to be used in creating clothing brands. What makes it different is that the designer doesnt have to be an amazing artist to create pieces; all artwork in branding and garment production can be determined via contest among other users who submit their designs for vote. The user need only describe what it should look like and submit some idea sketches. The garments themselves can also be uniquely made by submitting descriptions and design sketches to The/Studio's manufacturing team.
Basically, the idea is to enable the user to be able to produce anything they could possibly think of. The software is still in the very beginning stages and has some bugs to work through, but we anticipate that it will clean up and pick up speed quickly.
The project has already gotten some huge clientele. According to PR Newswire, a member of The U.S. M8+ Rowing Team created a shirt using The/Studio which was worn by said team during the 2012 London Olympics.
We created a profile on the site to see what we could do, and found a good foundation for what could become an excellent new creative platform. You start by creating an account. You can create a brand, name it and upload a logo or create a logo project in which you get The/Studio s designers to create a logo for you. Then you create projects within the brand.
There is also a Vote section where you can vote for other user-created designs to be sold on the website. Were not 100% sure of its entire functionality, as it is still in testing, but we will keep watching. This is sure to pick up soon, and we want to be the first ones to see it rise.
Keep an eye on The/Studio for further developments soon to come. Look through the garment creation options and see what you can create. You might as well get your hands dirty while this site is still wet behind the ears.
