Now You Can Buy In Season Products at Moda Operandi

The website that allows you to pre-order your favorite designer goods before they hit the stores, is now allowing you to purchase items in-season. Moda Operandi is switching up their business model to attract customers who do not want to have to wait months to receive their purchases.
While trunk show style services will remain to produce the bulk of their business, Moda Operandi will be launching a series of holiday gift shops offering immediate deliveries to go live today. By December 7th, they will launch a full version of the initiative offering in-season purchasing of designers such as Marc Jacobs, Marni, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Thakoon. By the spring season, their vendors for in-season will have tripled.
To compete with other online retailers, many e-commerce sites are switching up their operations to stay on top of things. With Shopbop to expand into men's and Moda Operandi offering in-season purchasing, these online retailers are revving up for a retail climate that is highly competitive and challenging.
The brand is even expanding their physical headquarters in January. They are moving from their 5,000 square foot space to a 25,000 square foot space at 315 Hudson St. complete with a new photo studio and office space.
Moda Operandi has always been the go-to destination to receive your runway favorites first, but will they become a larger power player when it comes to competing with Net-a-Porter and Saks Fifth Avenue? We will have to keep watching as the numbers will reveal over the next couple of months. This will be the first time the company has to deal with overstock and putting things on sale, so hopefully we will catch some deals in the future.
