Jane Lynch to Bring in da Nose, Bring in da Funk at FiFi Awards
May 18, 2012 - by Lester Brathwaite
As if the whimsically title FiFis needed any more comedy, Emmy-winning scene stealer Jane Lynch will shtick up the crowd as host of the Fragrance Foundation's annual awards show when it wafts into town Monday.
This isn't Lady Jane's first time at the rodeo as she hosted the 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards this past September. And though last year's Fifis was a veritable shitshow of malfunctions and technical difficulties, Lynch -- being an old pro -- is coming prepared: Ill make sure Ill have notes on note cards and not on a teleprompter. And Ill bring a flashlight in case the lights go out. Well make it fun. What I like most of all is being off the cuff and making sure everyone has a good time."
While Lynch credits her overly-sensitive olfactory in helping to hone her craft -- scent being the strongest sense tied to memory and all -- don't expect her to slap her name on a perfume bottle any time soon. I probably wouldnt do anything like that, but I love that [category], she said. Im the first one who will pick up a scent and say, Oh, this is Beyoncé. This is what Beyoncé smells like? I love how very serious [celebrities] are about how they chose the particular fragrances."
When in a fragrant mood, Jane opts for Jo Malone's "Orange Blossom" but she is in fact not actually a fan of perfume. The actress otherwise known as Sue Sylvester admits that she's wary about being attacked by those spritzers at Macy's, warning them, "Dont do it, because if its not good Im going to have to go home and take a shower."
To that particular dilemma I have but two words for Ms. Lynch: Bieber. Someday. It's not the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history for nothin', Janey. [WWD, sub req'd]
