Jenna Lyons Named A Woman of the Year by Glamour Mag
Nov 02, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
Jenna Lyons is a fashion force to be reckoned with. So it makes sense that Glamour magazine named her a Woman of the Year because while she may be the influential executive director of J. Crew, she also balances being a mother and a judge on the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Panel.
J. Crew has changed a lot since Jenna Lyons has been a contributor. The brand completely transformed due to her influence from an inexpensive preppy brand into a high fashion American brand that women like Michelle Obama and Oprah wanted to wear.
In the past nine years that she has been working for the company, J.Crew, has grown 170% and has added lines such as kids and bridal.
Her formable fashion presence comes from her six foot stature, for which she had to make her own clothes at young age, and impeccable taste. This Parson's graduate has given the fashion world a lot, but this title also means that she has a lot more for us in the future.
What Glamour has to say can really pack a punch. In fact, the magazine did a survey in which they say that glossy magazines like their own are still the most influential. Fancy that!
