Jennifer Lopez Covers Vanity Fair's September Issue

Aug 04, 2011 - by Lester Brathwaite

Called it. In a major coup for her neverending comeback, diva-extraordinaire Jennifer Lopez has given her first post-divorce interview to Vanity Fair -- not to tabloid trash like People or Us Weekly, thank you very much -- for the all-important September issue, featuring their "72nd International Best-Dressed List." Honestly, whoever's pulling the strings behind the scenes of La Lopez Inc. knows exactly what they're doing. I'm not saying this divorce was planned but the next step would have been rehab.

Mario Testino captures Lopez in all her Glow by JLo glory and Lisa Robinson gets the exclusive scoop on her life with Marc Anthony, her relationship with Diddy, her broken engagement to Ben Affleck as well as "the example she hopes to set for her children."

I hope this is the example, because I'm certainly taking notes. And though those tree-hugging assholes at PETA will inevitably get their granny panties in a twist over this fabulous flaunting of fur, homegirl is 84 years old and still turning it. I say bravo.

La Lopez also gives her insights on fame, money and her favorite topic, love:

That was my biggest dream, and I really worked hard at it. We both did. Sometimes it doesnt workand thats sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love. Its still my biggest dream. I am positivedetermined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.

Translation: "Wife and mother thing, done. Career in the toilet, done. Lesson learned. Buy my album." Coming through loud and clear.
