Well, it was only a matter of time before Karl Lagerfeld openly insulted someone -- frankly I'm surprised it took this long -- and the latest victim to fall prey to his stony glare is none other than the Jan Brady of the Royal Family, Pippa Middleton.

The Kaiser certainly can't get enough of Pip's older, prettier, thinner, royaler sister, saying generously about the Duchess, "Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties."

But when it comes to Pippa, the fingerless gloves come off.  "On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back."

That was the implied sound of a thousand eyebrows being raised. Of course, it doesn't matter to Pippa whether Uncle Karl prefers her face or her ass, since she has a definite opinion about which one he can kiss.

Lagerfeld's words about another British fashion icon, Victoria Beckham, were far kinder and for Karl, downright gushing:

"She is great, I like her a lot. She had a career as a singer. She has a beautiful husband and stunning children, and now she makes a career in fashion. And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined."
