Karlie Kloss Falls Off Her Bike & Teaches Us How To Model
Sep 09, 2012 - by Samantha Lim
Catching her before she lines up to transform into her latest runway character, we caught up with supermodel Karlie Kloss. She shared some modeling tips, her favorite way to work, and why she no longer rides her bike during Fashion Week.
FashionIndie has been a fan of yours since one of our favorite photographers Gabrielle Revere followed you around for LIFE Magazine. Yes! Gabrielle is amazing. She and I spent a lot of time together, I imagine she was so sick of me after that 4 months! I don't get the chance to do things like that very often, she came to St. Louis for my high school prom, she came to Paris for Couture, she came to the Met Ball. There's nobody else I could have or wanted to do that with but Gabrielle.
Any fashion week disaster stories of late? Last season I had this big bike accident the day before the shows started and now I have this huge mark on my leg. Now I don't ride my bike before the shows, too risky.
What are you most looking forward to this week? This week I'm looking forward to seeing all my friends who I haven't seen in such a long time (just then a model walked by and the two girls screamed, giggled, and planned to rendevous at the makeup station soon)
You have model-mastered everything. What are your favorite kind of shoots to do? Whenever I work with people that are friends, I'm more comfortable. You can work more creatively, so there are even better photos. Do you have any advice for posing or smiling? I have a happy place that I think of and try to find that.
