Maisonette 1977's Fashion Week Inception
Feb 24, 2011 - by Jessica Lapidos
Maisonette 1977 presented a series of building blocks upon which models stood presenting another layer of optical illusion. In the infinitesimal pattern of mind numbing crimson, blanc and noir fur you can see for miles. In the lone bright white dress, the cutouts hug the ribcage in clean lines, just peeking to the front. The dark architecturally constructed collection strings athleticism with formality yet with a dreamlike quality. Designer Jane Ibrahim tells us what inspired her. Video and photos after the jump.
Jane Ibrahim describes the gravity defying shoes, that in reality make perfect sense. The heel that juts from the middle gives much needed arch support while also lifting up. She's been yearning to work with shoemaker United Nude since she spotted them in London while prepping for last season. Jane hopes to collaborate on a line of shoes in the near future.
