Marchesa Designer Georgina Chapman to Direct a Short Film

Following in the footsteps of her movie mogul husband, Georgina Chapman is set to direct a film for Canon's Project Imagination.
Last year, Canon's campaign "Long Live Imagination" chose 8 photos out of 100,000 and had Bryce Howard shoot a short film using them as inspiration. Now Canon is expanding with "Project Imaginat10n", where 10 films will be made through a similar process.
Joining the likes of Bryce Howard, fashion designer Georgina Chapman is one of 5 people chosen to direct a short film for Canon's Project Imaginat10n. The other four directors are Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria, musician James Murphy of LCD Soundstystem and Biz Stone, c0-founder of Twitter.
Following in the footsteps of her movie mogul husband, Harvey Weinstein, the lead designer of womenswear label Marchesa will be directing a short film inspired by the photos that consumers submit to Canon.
The designer told Women's Wear Daily, "What an amazing opportunity to do something like direct a movie and step out of your creative comfort zone and yet do something that is also so familiar at the same time".
The other 5 directors are to be announced at a later date, but if we are sure of anything about Miss Chapman's directorial debut, the costumes are going to be red-carpet ready.
