It seems to be a trend as of late in collaborations to turn to retailers instead of fellow designers. Fast shoe retailer Nine West is following this path by collaborating with Kirna Zabête instead of an emerging fashion designer.
Kicking off in February, Kirna Zabête is starting a six month long footwear collaboration with the brand Nine West. Retailing from $49-$169, the moderately priced brand will feature designs inspired by Kirna Zabête's owners Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini.
What's unique about this collaboration is the categories in which each shoe will debut. There will be styles that feature monthly shoe groups like high-heel, mid heel, flat, and flip-flop designs. Proving that the design of a shoe drives more creativity, this new collaboration is forcing customers to start dressing from the bottom up. Not that we're complaining.
Nine West has a tradition of collaborating with unexpected designers. Check out their line by jewelry designer Pamela Love and check out how accessories and footwear combine.
