Nordstrom Jumps on the Live-Streaming Bandwagon with Jason Wu

Feb 10, 2012 - by Lester Brathwaite

In its first attempt at live-streaming, Nordstrom will broadcast Jas0n Wu's fall 2012 show on its website. Since it's their first time, I hope Wu is gentle with the luxury department store.

The site features a convenient countdown clock to the runway show at 1 pm today as well as a rather dry Q&A with the designer. For those who have never seen a runway show, however, don't be fooled by the disclaimer that the show will start at "1pm Eastern (10am Pacific) or shortly thereafter" -- "shortly thereafter" means about a half an hour in.

When asked why Nordstrom chose Wu to break its live-streaming hymen, Executive Vice President of Designer Merchandising Jeffrey Kalinsky responded (rather defensively, I might add), Jason makes truly exciting clothes for all different types of women of all different ages. Hes become a really strong partner for us. Were totally behind Jason Wu, period, end of subject.
