NYFW Cheat Sheet: Karen Walker Spring 2013
Sep 11, 2012 - by Amanda Gabriele
"Some times looking up is the best way to go forward." That was Karen Walker's perception when she designed her Spring 2013 collection, a blend of 1950s optimism and celestial, futuristic details.
People in the 50s were obsessed with the future - everyone thought we'd be balling in flying cars by now. Walker presented this idea with polka dots and angora sweaters mixed with metallic copper details. The straw cadet hats were showstoppers as were Walker's famous sunglasses, my favorite being the rounded rectangular rose-colored pairs.
