Photoshop WTF: Awkward Pose or Magical Elbow-less Model

Jul 23, 2012 - by Emily Draznik

We have a love/hate relationship with photoshop here at FashionIndie, stars like the Kardashian's and recent photoshop cover victim, Kate Middleton, are not strangers to a little post-photoshoot edit. But has the industry gone too far when magazines are removing complete body parts of their already beautiful models? This recent cover of Vogue has us wondering if it was just an awkward pose or if something seriously deformed is going on with Natasha Poly's elbow.

Teen magazines Seventeen and Teen Vogue have been asked to pledge against photoshopping their images and Vogue has put out a "Health Initiative" that states they will no longer use underage models or models that look like they might have an eating disorder. But has any of this recent upheaval about photoshopping images and images in fashion publications helped at all?

Now it is unsure if this image is just an awkwardly posed problem or the magic of computers has made Natasha Poly's elbow disappear. Try out the pose in a mirror, decide for yourself, and tweet at us @Fashionindie or comment below with your thoughts. Is it photoshopped or just a poorly chosen cover photo? It's your call.
