PREVIEW: The Eye Has To Travel to NY or LA to see Diana Vreeland
Sep 04, 2012 - by Jessica Lapidos
Diana Vreeland's influence on fashion knows no bounds. As the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue from 1962-1971, she was the Anna well before Anna was Anna Wintour. Vreeland's character was far more whimsical, though her words equally sturdy, and her vision exactly spot on every time. It takes an all-knowing woman to advise Manolo Blahnik to start making shoes. A new documentary, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel takes us inside of her world. Watch the trailer here.
Lisa Immordino Vreeland, Diana's granddaughter-in-law, directed the film Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel. The film interviews absolutely everyone, including Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Hubert de Givenchy, Diane von Furstenberg, Richard Avedon, Anjelica Huston, and Manolo Blahnik.
The film is out in NY and LA on September 22, 2012.
