Rihanna Channels Cher (Horowitz) At The GQ Men of the Year Party

If you haven't seen Rihanna's saucy new cover of GQ this month, then prepare to hide the copies from your boyfriends. The 24-year old singer dons a leather jacket over her shoulders and nothing else. Last night she attended the Men of the Year Party to celebrate the issue in a little number that was not much more than a slip. Actually it was a recreation of the dress Cher Horowitz wore in Clueless. As if!
In 2010 Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa collaborated with Los Angeles boutique Confederacy to reissue the iconic little white slip number that Alicia Silverstone wore in her defining role as Cher Horowitz. Last night at the Men of the Year Party for GQ, racy cover girl Rihanna put on her best good girl gone bad in a red version of the Clueless dress.
While it is an improvement from completely naked, does this minimalistic slip work on anyone else besides Cher? Especially because the simple frock retailed at Confederacy for a whopping $916.00. Well crap, it looks like it's becoming expensive to like wear like, totally important designers. Although one thing we know for sure is that at least Rihanna will never die a virgin who can't drive.
It's amazing that 13 years later Clueless is still fashionably relevant. We mean, check out the new uniforms for the Brooklyn Nets cheerleaders. It's as if they came straight from the gym class with Cher Horowitz and Amber.
