RUNWAY REVIEW: Ashton Michael Black Label Spring 2011

Sep 14, 2010 - by Amanda Gabriele

I got to go back stage at the Ashton Michael Black Label show yesterday and catch all of the action. Tattooed models, makeup artists and hair stylists filled the room along with a hyper and excited energy. See more after the jump...

The  smokey-goth makeup for the show was done by James Vincent. Morrisey provided the music for this punk-rock collection that featured design details like shredding, straps and intricate weaving. Ashton Michael teamed-up with Seattle -based Rethink Sustainable Solutions Group to construct a collection from recycled bamboo, PET, cotton and even coconut. Even the bad-ass Doc Martens were fashioned with netting to match the looks.

The gift bags were awesome, filled with eco-friendly beauty products and nutrition bars from Luna. The tote itself was made from recycled materials by Rume and designed by Ashton Michael for the show.
