Showing Love in a Sneaker Wedge for Serena Williams in the US Open

Aug 29, 2012 - by Jessica Lapidos

Serena Williams is kicking some serious a$$ at the US Open. Beating Coco Vandeweghe 6-1 seemed like a cake walk for this twin winner. Perhaps there was something in the way she matched the tennis ball that made her score so high? Well, her neon take on the court makes us want to blind everyone around in victory, too. Get the bright hot look ahead, and show the love.

Pay homage to the sport, and the one whose currently dominating it, and start with a neon tennis-ball-green neoprene pleated skirt (Allyfashion, $20) and toss a tight cropped tank above (Topshop, $28) to show off the guns. Now, as you'll never wear a sweatband again unless you're actually playing a sport, get a luminously green silk scarf (Rosemary Goodenough, $346), and tie it tight with your hair flying out huge from the center. Replace wristbands with bright white cuffs (Dean Davidson, $195) and a soft choker with that of solid gold (Yves Saint Laurent, vintage $770). Step it up in a gold-plated hi-top sneaker wedge (Asos, $77). And while you won't carry a racket around, this cage bag will cause enough of a racket in its awesomeness (Anndra Neen, $455).

Serve it up.
