Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell Getting Paid £1 to Close the Olympics

Jul 16, 2012 - by Lester Brathwaite

It wasn't so long ago that a supermodel wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day but the times they are a-changin'. British supers Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Georgia May Jagger and Lily Donaldson will catwalk the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony for a mere £1.

That's like a $1.55. Nowadays, that's not enough to buy anything...even at a Dollar Store. And yet you've got some of the biggest and leggiest names in the business strutting their stuff. But, hey, it's the Olympics. And the £1 is merely a matter of formality as they're really being paid in national pride.

That price tag, however, is a little too low for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who has once again shirked her model duties by dropping out of the fashion show for that accursed Mad Max film. Jagger will take her place, showcasing looks by homegrown designers including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood.

But that's not all the Olympic Committee has planned for the Closing Ceremony. They're pullin' out all the British stops with performances by George Michael, Annie Lennox, Queen, Pet Shop Boys, inter-generational boybands Take That and One Direction and Jessie J among others.

Well, if anything, those Brits sure know how to party. Hard. [Telegraph]
