The Fashion Guide to Miami Art Basel 2011

It's that time of year when fashionable snowbirds fly south for annual art extravaganza Miami Art Basel. With hundreds of events to choose from, it's sort of like rummaging through fashion week invites. But we've done the searching for you and compiled the most sizzling art and fashion fusion events to heat up your winter.

The Vogue Lounge

Thursday Dec. 1 and Friday Dec. 2, Noon - 7pm

Sagamore Hotel, 1671 Collins Ave

A two-day shopping event with Vogue featuring art and fashion collaborations from Keds x Opening Ceremony, Bond No. 9, Dee & Ricky and Lexus. Lexus will host a fashion workshop on the transformation of luxury auto parts recycled into fashion accessories. Since you're in Miami, grab some beach accessories from the 2012 Artist Towel Series, designed by Barbara Kruger and Rirkrit Tiravanija.

Dior Boutique Art Basel

Thursday Dec. 1, 3-5pm

Dior Boutique Art Basel (The Moore Building), 191 NE 40th Street

Dior went big for Art Basel this year. Not only is the French house opening festivities tonight with a dinner party at the Moore Building, they are hosting a party Thursday, December 1 at their pop-up featuring camo nail art by celebrity manicurist Tracylee. They collaborated with Berlin-based artist Anselm Reyle on handbags, shoes, scarves and a shadow palette. The products will be available in Dior's Design District pop-up shop for Art Basel before it's official launch in stores this January.

Jeremy Scott Pop-Up Shop

Wednesday Nov. 30, 8pm - 10:30pm

The designer of Rihanna's "We Found Love" denim get-up will host the opening of his Miami pop-up with complimentary vodka cocktails by 42Below (this obviously wouldn't be a FashionIndie guide without the whereabouts of free booze). Doesn't Jeremy Scott looks like Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino  on the invite?

Diane Pernet Presents ASVOFF

Thursday Dec. 1

ASVOFF A Shaded View on Fashion Film - is screening, in various settings of the Delano hotel, "Best Of" fashion films from the latest installment including I Want Muscle by Elisha Smith-Leverock, The Murder of Jean Seburg by Joseph Lally, starring Daphne Guinness, Onions Don't Make Me Cry by Bryan Adams and more.

AS IF Magazine Unveiling with Fendi

Mara Hoffman's first ever pop-up will be hosted out of a 1964 Airstream. Shop her Resort 2012 collection and an assortment of artist collaboration pieces by Michelle Tillou, Maya Hayuk and Spencer Tunik, who shot the above photograph. EcoArt Fashion Week
