The King of Pop's Castle Up for Sale
Nov 10, 2011 - by Lester Brathwaite
Michael Jackson's Beverly Hills home is back on the market, and its belongings are being put up for auction next month. That's right, kids -- you could possibly get your hands on some truly morbid memorabilia, like the bed where MJ passed away, or a chalkboard with a note from one of his kids...or you could just save your time/money and take a nonstop flight straight to hell. I've already got my ticket -- first class!
"We want to preserve the history of these items," claims Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions, the company overseeing the liquidation of Jackson's estate. Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson clan, has already set her lawyers on the auction of 100 North Carolwood Drive, however, to ensure "that items from this address are not being auctioned using Michael's name and likeness to enhance the items' value."
As for the house itself, no price is listed, but other homes in the area run about $18 mil and up. With six bedrooms, ten fireplaces, a movie theater, wine cellar, fitness center and a medication room -- which is exactly what it sounds like -- the manse will no doubt fetch a pretty penny.
That is, unless the ghost of Michael Jackson is still moonwalking about the grounds. Imagine moving in and tucking yourself in for a good night's sleep, when Vincent Price starts chattering on about the "funk of forty thousand years" and a piercing "tee-hee" echoes down the hall. In the morning, you wake up thinking it was all just your imagination but -- what's that shining underneath the duvet cover? A single sequined glove.
Actually, that sounds kind of awesome. Who's got an extra $20 mil lying about? [AOL]
