The Met Extends McQueen
May 31, 2011 - by Lester Brathwaite
Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty exhibit at The Met has proved such a runaway success the museum has extended it by one week, to August 7th, and is even implementing special viewing times.
Since its record-breaking opening day, over 150,000 people have seen Savage Beauty, resulting in lines, crowds and kilt-tearing. But starting Monday, June 6th, it will be even easier to go on McQueen's Magical Mystery Tour.
"Met Mondays with McQueen" will allow visitors -- for $50 -- access to the exhibit between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm when the rest of the museum is closed. It would kind of be like Night at the Museum but if Ben Stiller was played by Daphne Guinness and instead of dinosaurs, the mannequins came to life and started catwalking.
Meanwhile, I smell a sequel.... [WWD]
